What is the Harvest?
The Harvest is a wholesale food buying club that seeks to expand access to affordable, healthy food in the Prospect Park and Haledon area. Our mission is to help families save at least 15% on their grocery bills by purchasing nutritious food in bulk and then passing those savings on to our member families. New Hope launched The Harvest in May of 2021 as a way to increase food security in Prospect Park and Haledon, an area considered to be a partial food desert.
Access to fresh commodities such as produce, milk, bread and eggs within the community is limited, and where these items are available, the quality is often below average and the price above average. This is the very gap that The Harvest fills by securing high quality healthy food and employing various cost-reducing tactics to bring the maximum level of quality and affordability. The Harvest's Core Values are: Community, Quality and Accessibility.
